The LAGACÉ/LAGASSÉ Family Association was founded at a metting organized by Jean Lagacé from Victoria (British Colombia). This was in Montreal on March 9, 1989. Mr. Sylvio Héroux, general director of "La Fédération des Familles Souches Québécoises Inc" offered his help for creating the association relating all the descendants of "André Mignier" , our ancestor.
On November 30, 1989, the first board of directors was elected. It's aims was :
- to promote our association and have the majority of membership.
- to create new groups in differents areas where the Lagacé/Lagassé families are located.
Publication
The LAGACÉ/LAGASSÉ family association publishes regularly a newspaper "La Gâchette" for all its members.
